Grand elk North through Byron Center at 3:26pm, one loco and about 15 cars. That's the 4th train I've seen today!
The Borg Man reporteth:
FWIW, looked like GDLK Job 303 did not head south last evening (11-08-2021). As power for yesterday's train ( WAMX 4209) was sitting behind engine house in Hughart yard Grand Rapids mi this morning as of 0449 coupled to WAMX 4125. So at some point today they will head south. 11-09-2021.
GRE Ann Street yard is full of hoppers, looks like most if not all for King. One load center beam earlier today. I did not hear an EB today, so likely at least one run, maybe two, tomorrow.
Oops. Forgot to click submit earlier. The switch was lined for Otsego when I came through about 5:20. Later 6:30 - 7:00ish I could hear the horn and the EOT. Presumably the Elk headed north about that time.
Grand Elk north through Byron Center at 4:15pm. WAMX 4124 and WAMX 4189 with 16ish cars. Had Fuel cranked up, daughter heard horn, and alerted me to their presence
GRE WB around 2:30 pm in Grand Rapids, with a long train of King empties, probably 40 or so. The line of empties in the yard at 6:00pm was almost back to Alpine Ave.
Well that was different. Grand Elk north through Byron Center at 9:12pm. Looked like WAMX 4124, WAMX 4189, and a 3rd unit, maybe 20 cars? Monday's train held up in Grand Rapids, then Tuesday crew took the train south. Normally I wouldn't see a northbound run until the next day, but first time seeing a northbound on the same day as an earlier southbound.

I’m hearing the horns now but it sounded like it was heading south.
Edit:
Still hearing the horns and they sound like they are getting farther away. Hmmm

GRHC - you know every night I can imagine he is in front of his computer screen sitting in his underwear swearing profusely and drinking Blatz beer combing the RailRoadFan website for grammatical errors.
Dunno what exactly you were hearing direction wise JT. Was definitely northbound at 9pm as they came back south at 12:15am. Looked like 4189 and 4124 with 15ish cars.
