Re: Great Lakes Central Updates May 2021
Any clue what engines? I was only getting horn reports this morning, never got visual confirmation.
Went through Kingsley around 10:34, I went outside and heard them at 10:36.

I think 395 and 396 were the units (I never pay that close attention).

Re: Great Lakes Central Updates May 2021
Probably long gone- they went to Beacon first as usual (they left there about 12:30ish), then to Amerhart, then Cadillac.

Re: Great Lakes Central Updates May 2021
OSTN performed an interesting maneuver with CSX D708 tonight at Ann Pere.
Basically CSX unhooked their train with the GLC set out on the head and Asahi cars on the rear. GLC grabbed the cars including the Asahi/Webberville empties and got back on their lines. Then they hooked onto the CSX set out and pulled forward, clearing the diamond and allowing D708 to go back East. Then GLC backed the CSX set out onto the CSX trackage. D708 hooked up and the GLC crew unhooked it after the Asahi cars. The maneuver saved GLC time pulling onto the main and doing what it normally does and saved D708 a good two hours because they didn’t have to go down to Brighton and run around the train. This is by far the most efficient way to interchange the cars.

Thanks man. I’m not always fluent in RR speak but I thought it was a cool maneuver worth sharing. The logistics side of this biz is what I find like interesting than anything.AARR wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 7:56 amThank you for posting LRF.
