Cn 3214 leading E274 today, 3228 trailing. Just passing Emmett street and pulling up to McAllister. They said tight because he's barely going to fit. Cn 3270 is on 251 solo unless there's a dpu back in the train somewhere. 491 tied onto their train but still stationary 1500

Re: CN Train Location Updates - October 2020
Cn 5781 & 2023 on 500 today. Waiting for a route to the east end to start putting their train together. Waiting on 251 and a yard job to clear. 397 is here for a recrew and potentially setting off some power. 491 also waiting on a crew. The tail end of 274 barely cleared Emmett st. Not sure how many feet that is but its good size 1544

Southbound 116 by Linden at 10:12am with CN 5638 leading, and 2 other CN units (one of them being an old 25xx), 150 cars!! First 135 cars were all intermodal, almost entirely double stacks, with 15 empty autoracks on the tail end. Train was moving pretty slow too, maybe only about 25 mph for some reason.

Re: CN Train Location Updates - October 2020
Southbound 116 conversation with Dispatcher at around 10:20 am reveals Chief Dispatcher permission to have them run "3 in notch 6". Dispatcher repeated this twice, so what I gather from that is only 2 of the 3 locomotives were online when he passed me in Linden, and was asking for permission to bring the 3rd unit online b/c he was really going slow. He could have even been going slower than 25 (above post). So for the rest of the trip, I guess he is limited to no faster than notch 6, which doesn't make a lot of sense unless they are on some big fuel savings kick, which wouldn't make sense either because fuel right now is very affordable. I have seen and heard this before on CN, train crew can't do anything on their own anymore, seems like they have to ask for permission for everything. I am aware of the whole horsepower per ton thing, but can someone shed some light on this? Thanks.

Northbound road freight is working north end of Pontiac Yard. Looks like it may pick up a string of CN box cars.
