CSX Train Location Updates - Aug 2023

L301-16 eastbound passed through Zeeland Michigan earlier this evening @ approximately 18:05 or close to it.

Engines CSX #6412 + CSX #4070 + 27 cars.

Note: if it’s possible maybe Tom or Andy 24 can go back into the scanner archives and pull up the DD 19.1 report and give us the technical data along with an official timestamp. This evening‘s train sounded belligerent overbearing and mean and gave off a very harsh and unfriendly vibe as though it was being led by a former Conrail EMD SD80MAC or maybe a leased unit of some other kind of make and model.

No defects were reported by the DD site & checked channel 3535 & further into the channel 0808 (road channel) archives for any Dispatcher calls to L301 for any anomalies they can see that are not transmitted by the DD sites - no calls were made.

Note: this evening‘s train had a good mix of cars that included some tank cars that came off the MS as well as a number of empty bulkhead flat cars from Lumbermens in Holland Michigan.

I love your reporting style GRHC . Since I am not on scanners much, I just put a estimated time frame on when trains passes based on experience and knowledge

Chances of a DD 19.1 report is very likely by Tom or myself. It was indeed a compliment. The laughing emoji was for what you said about the engines

L305-16 @ 21:44 westward reported by the Defect Detector mp CH79.9 Okemos, Mi with 92 axles. CSX engines #8066 + #8016 & 20 cars. No other info was heard leading up to this report & it's very rare for me to hear this DD. At 22:01 heard L305 asking L302 if they were working Turner Street. I haven't heard anything for L302 up to the point when L305 called him & couldn't hear a reply from L302.

L302-16 @22:17 ready to depart Ensel mp CH90 & proceed westward to Grand Rapids with CSX engine #965 leading.

R597-16 @ 22:52 copied their EC1 to depart the power plant in West Olive, Mi & head southward to the Grand Rapids sub-div in Holland, Mi with BNSF engines #8575 + #8073 lite power to go into Saugatuck siding mp CG32.1 & tie down. The next crew will use these engines as the extra power for C801-14 that had tied down in Wells siding mp CG41.3 today.

This was C801-14 that had tied down in Grand Jct mp CG54 yesterday. He is headed into the w/e Wells siding mp CG43.3 to let Amtrak P371 & M327 pass by & then continue to the power plant in West Olive, Mi.

This was C801-14 that had tied down in Grand Jct mp CG54 yesterday. In about ½ mile he’ll diverge onto the west end of the Wye & onto the Fremont sub-division.

He has work for Buzzi Cement mp CG5.2 then will head westward into Waverly mp CG22.8 & later to Hartford mp CG68.7 & head back east from there into Holland mp CG25.3 as lite power.
