With the help of some of the posts in this thread, I labeled this photo I just took the other day looking railroad west from Turner Street crossing at the east end of Ensel Yard. Hope this helps! Bing Birds Eye maps are great resources in the Lansing area, too.

Thanks! Though, does the JAIL main branch off from the run-around or the run-around from the main? I'm not committed enough railfan to know, but my feeling would be the latter. lolGP30M4216 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 9:52 pmWith the help of some of the posts in this thread, I labeled this photo I just took the other day looking railroad west from Turner Street crossing at the east end of Ensel Yard. Turner St looks so weird since they took the crossover out.

Just ran across this news article from Feb 1970 announcing that the Gier St roundhouse would shortly be closed with engine servicing moving to Cavanaugh.

Thanks, Dan. That settles that! I am a bit surprised that the old roundhouse was only five stalls with all the power assigned to Lansing at one time.Dan Cluley wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2023 3:26 amJust ran across this news article from Feb 1970 announcing that the Gier St roundhouse would shortly be closed with engine servicing moving to Cavanaugh.
