I've been rereading a 2012 article in Railfan and Railroad concerning CSX's short lived roadrailer service in the late 80s between Detroit and Atlanta, and got to wondering: does anybody know where the northern terminus was for those runs?

Oak Yard goes way back to PM/C&O days. I wasn't even aware it belonged to CP now!
CD, CSX still owns most of Oak Yard. They use it to stage cars for their two remaining customers on the West Detroit Branch. Coca Cola gets syrup and a metal scrap yard ships scrap.

CP leases/owns a couple tracks for COFC business and at this time operates a two trains a week in and out of their small segment of Oak Yard.
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

Thanks for the info, AARR! I'm pretty much out of the loop when it comes to current stuff in Michigan. This site is my loop!

C&O Dispatcher. Thank you for posting my response at the other board.

When I converted to Windows 10 a couple years ago the other site would no longer accept my password. I contacted the other boards moderator but he has not responded to my requests to set up a new account there.

There also is / was the customer at Joy Rd / Livernois that was receiving hoppers. Word is there is a total of 7 Customers, but Coca Cola and Kimmel Iron & Metal are the two busiest.

Also, previously the local would operate on Tuesdays and Fridays on day shift, utilizing symbol Y-192? Latest word from a CSX Employee is that an afternoon job at Oak Yard works the West Detroit Branch after working Oak Yard (which could be after dark). No empirical evidence has been posted since.

According to CSX Freight Schedule & Classification books the Roadrailer trains originated/terminated in Middlebelt Yard.
