N&W 611's visit to Strasburg in 2019 has gotten me wondering. What other big steam engines would be good for certain tourist lines?
For example, would Reading 2101 on the Strasburg or New Hope & Ivyland work? How about Milwaukee Road 261 on the Mid-Continent Railway Museum? Or NKP 765 at the ITM's new location in Logansport.

Re: Mainline Steamers on Tourist Lines
All comes down to what the track can support. Strasburg carries freight in addition to their passenger operations so their line is built-up for 286k ton cars. I would imagine other tourist/museum lines are not in the same boat.

Re: Mainline Steamers on Tourist Lines
Unless they've completely transformed the site in the past year or so, ITM's new location in Logansport isn't capable of hosting much, let alone a large steam locomotive. Getting that large steam locomotive into the site would be a challenge as well, considering the single outside connection they have is not steam friendly.
