Hard to think of where ball diamonds would have been in such a tight residential area on this side of the tracks.....

If I'm thinking of the same location. Wasn't there a rather large coal storage operation located on that site many years ago?

Even with the assistance of the hints 1949 and I haven't found it yet :lol:

I remember back in the 70's working at Carleton Tower most mornings hearing the DT&I dispatcher put out a train order for a train to "run extra Flat Rock Yard to South Yard." Never actually checked out South Yard in any of my travels back then, though.

The south end of the CN South Yard (former DT&I South yard) located just north off East Westfield Street in Ecorse, Wayne County, The new marina in the above shot not appear on the google map.
