Oh man, I did this in High School all the freakin' time! Even did it to my teacher once and I got yelled at infront of the whole class.
"...and I was in the front and Matt grabbed and pulled my ears from behind me and made horsey sounds."

I think anyone would probably get detention for that.
However, 20 years ago the phone call to parents was more likely as most people didn't have e-mail 20 years ago.

This kind of reminds me of George Carlin's take on "Bad Words" in this case a "bad comment". However to some this may not be a bad comment but rather a joke and something that some people would laugh off, but to others it would be taken offensively. One thing for sure is you have to know your crowd and how they may react to these comments or words before saying them. I seen lots of people when I was in school get caught for this. Personally if someone had said this to me I would have laughed, but others may not be that way. That is why I try to be careful on what I say, especially in front of people I have just met or barely know.

Good words of advice for this day & age of over-sensitive "PC America" that we live in. Seriously. God forbid you happen to even slightly offend anyone these days. I miss the America I grew up in...Justin wrote:That is why I try to be careful on what I say, especially in front of people I have just met or barely know.

The best way to fight and end political correctness is to oppose it always. If you are the parent of a kid who gets detention over something inane such as that comment, or if your Cub Scout gets suspended from school for bringing a "multitool" eating utensil to school, etc, get in the face of those teachers and administrators and help them to regain some "common sense" (more appropriately, it should be called "uncommon sense" as there's not much of it around any more).
Seriously.
