Woodchip Cars
Woodchip Cars
I just finished reading the new trains magazine article on Seattle. In one portion it mentions how "BNSF has since sold off it's chip fleet." Does this mean that fewer woodchips are moving by rail, or does in mean that the cars are now privately owned? It seems that with the rise in biomass energy there would be more need to move woodchips from logging areas to plants, but maybe not?

Re: Woodchip Cars
I would have to say they are going away. CSX in the past few years have been rebuilding woodchip cars to coke cars.
