HAVING BEEN A REGISTERED REP FROM 1984 TO 2004 , I CAN SAY THAT THE REAL STOCK MARKET IS NOT A GAME.
WHEN CLIENTS SEE $100K BECOME $50K IN A FEW WEEKS, IT LEAVES A LASTING IMPRESSION ON YOU. -AND THE CLIENT.

This game is a poor representation of what investing should be about and yet this game and others like it are used to teach investing in high schools and colleges. Mike Tabone originally posted this game 3 or 4 years ago when they played it in Econ class and many schools have games running on VSE now. I did a similar exercise in high school 35 years ago (but without computers). This game is about making big bets (either short or long) on fast moving, inexpensive stocks or as Railroadfan put it "Go big or go home".
Be careful playing with stocks that are soon to be delisted. A couple years ago I made a big investment in RailAmerica, right before Fortress bought out the company. When the stock was delisted, the game didn't give me credit for the sale, and my investment in the stock was frozen for the rest of the game. In other words, once the price is pretty much frozen on a soon-to-be-delisted stock, get rid of it while you're still able to.
Looks like I'm doing flat out awesome... as Grandville quoted, go big or go home, so I went big. Goal is first or last, and I'm trying hard to do just that. Chris Duva, ConrailJon, JimBob and B34Master need to pick their stocks. Anyone that hasn't joined: as you can see, you'll be tied for 6th place, so you'll already be ahead of the majority
I noticed but I only came in second. I made a few wrong trades and was working in Muskegon for about 6 weeks and would not get home until after 5 PM. That made it hard to do day trades.
Dang it! I got beat out by... myself! ehehehe, I made Toyota Supra just to screw around, and I bottomed out the list with both accounts.
Lost 63% of my money with Railroadfan, and 64% as Toyota Supra, both buying super cheap stocks that tanked.
