I am back on RailroadFan after a long hiatus. I really don’t know why I haven’t been on here more often other than the Facebook groups. But anyway, enough babbling and onto the trip.
This was my first time at Pine Junction and I really didn’t enjoy the fact that it was my first time. It was a blast and made me wish I was here far sooner. Plenty of trains and plenty of variety. Amtrak wasn’t running anything out of the ordinary, but CSX, NS, and CN all failed to disappoint.
These were my top three trains:
The first train was this, CSX Q367 with a Dash 8 leader and an SD70AC trailing. I always enjoy seeing the older power the most.
NS 23K is next. A BNSF SD70ACe was in charge of this one. Better than the usual orange GEVOs that make up a good chunk of the foreign power seen on the NS Chicago Line.
And lastly, we have NS 31M. 31M was particularly popular thanks to NS 1067 being the solo leader. We chased it into East Chicago for another shot, but I like this photo from Pine better.
