438: Q335 Chase Snow Rd to New Richmond

Ep. 438: CSX Q335 - the Chase is On!

The chase is on with CSX Q335 on a sunny April afternoon in 2015, as we chase them from Alto west to Grand Rapids, and then to New Richmond.

We open at Snow Road near Alto, where the train curves around through the farmland east of Grand Rapids.

Moments later, with crew time expiring, they pull up to the "Chessie Cat" bridge at Patterson and the West End of Fox, to await their recrew by Y150, to take them the rest of the way to Grand Rapids.

With the new crew on board, we catch them getting underway again at East Paris, rolling downgrade into town.

Next, we're at Godfrey in downtown, where Y150 brings the train into Wyoming Yard.

A couple hours later, after setting out the Grand Rapids cars on the rear, a west end crew arrives at Ivanrest, preparing to take the train the rest of the way to Chicago. They're soon underway, taking down the signal.

At Vriesland, they're up to speed and once more in open countryside.

We catch them one final time at the Kalamazoo River Bridge in New Richmond, as the sun begins to set over the valley.
