Steam Doubleheader Oct 3

Unread post by Dan Cluley »

Since the weather was less than ideal, I concentrated on video but here is the best of my digital shots.

Headed out for Owosso dark and early. Here are the 765 and 1225 just prior to their 4:30 am departure.

Not many fans out in the dark and rain, so it was a very relaxed chase up to Alma, arriving about 7:00 am

After a few shots at the College, I headed back south and met up with a friend in St Johns who drove the rest of the day.

765 Northbound passed the depot at Clare.

Arrivial in Cadillac was about 1:30

The weather was great if you're a duck

It did actually clear up for most of the time the train was in Cadillac :)
After wyeing the engines and placing the 1225 in the lead for the Southbound trip, the train departs the yard headed back downtown to water the engines, and load passengers.

After lots of rain at Mcbain, we got a rainbow at Marion.

Finally arrived back in Alma a little before 9:30

In spite of the rain, an incredible day, and a big thank you to everyone who made this event happen!

In spite of the weather we had a great trip. Big thanks to the wonderfull SRI Staff that attended to our every need. We had more food than we could eat. NO BEER :( But we still had a great time. Hung out in the Observation car and dining car the whole time and talked to some great people.

Here are a few pics from the trip.

Thanks. :)

It'll take a few days to get the video into the computer and edited, but some should be up on Youtube eventually. I'll post a link then.
