Hearing reports from several Chicago area railfans that the OCS went to Union Station, seems very fishy but crazier things have happened, can anyone confirm?

Business train stuff? Probably entertaining clients or something. Why does it matter?

CSX OCS Heads-Up thread, 3/15/22

Unread post by David Collins »

Admin: please allow.

The CSX OCS is back for the 4th time in a year! It will be passing through the state tomorrow going west with the three B&O paint F40's and the whole consist. Timing is still a bit uncertain, looking like mid-morning to early afternoon for SE Michigan, so if anyone has any contributions with planned times, please share.

I'd like for this thread to be utilized as a TLU thread for this train.

Odds are that I won't be able to join the foamy fray, but I will provide updates as I receive them.

Probably one last look, before they sell everything to Lake State.

Don't give me hope like that.

Nope. They are disembarking in Romulus and the train is headed back to Chicago empty. No reason to go to MI aside from this extra train having low-impact on the crews and trains already running.

Only evidence of P001 train since. Went south from Chicago since that photo was shared on Heritage Units app

Yea it is or was at Union Station. Not sure if it has moved from there yet. As I said iust can't find any evidence that supports the claim its running tomorrow. For the past two years it has ran as P001, but there is nothing in the computer system to support that. Not saying info is wrong could be true, but as of now nothing I can see supports it.

Train will be going east across Indiana and Ohio, up to Plymouth and then across to Grand Rapids and Chicago. Should be quite the trip for those on board.

As for those on the ground, weather should be perfect yet again for this train. Look forward to see you trackside!
