Who remembers when MMRR #2057 (Formerly GR #3839) was in Grand Rapids around this time 3 years ago...
Has anyone recently seen MMRR #2057 running in MQT I know it's been a year since I saw a video of it on YouTube?

I’m honored to have my video of MMR #2057 featured above. I was doing my usual railfan of MQT Rail in Grand Rapids at the time and saw the MMR #2057 after I posted the video and it was the usual MQT engines leading.

That was a lucky catch and I thank you for your videos. MMRR #2057 rarely runs down there seems like, I'm glad you were one of them to catch it. :)

Oh really? Thanks!
Is it still in Walhalla somewhere in Manistee?
I've been looking for new videos of it but there were none since March 2022.

GR 5106/ GR 3839/ MMRR 2057 had the same K5 on it from 1993 until 2019.

What K5?
Do you mean K5LA?
If so, then yes you are correct, because MMRR #2019 had a P5 horn the same year in 2019 which I'm guessing was shortly after the New Year of 2019, but many of us do not know what happened to MMRR #2057's old K5LA that we loved from 1993-2019 the reason why it has MMRR #2019's horn now :?: :?
MMRR #2019 previously had a Raised Letter K5LA as it's original horn since it arrived on the MS back in 2013.
Did MMRR #2057's old K5LA horn break, stop working or did someone steal it?
It's almost like a mystery that it just went from having it's original K5LA horn to having MMRR #2019's raised letter K5LA...

Yes, K5 is short for K5LA.

2057 is a piece of crap, keeps dropping it load above 300 amps. It's been over a year and the mechanics can't figure it out

Yeah I've been told even the crew in Grand Rapids hated it...
I was wondering why. It must be wearing out and tearing down. :(
I loved it as the GR #3839 but it must be getting worse overtime due to how many years it ran from way back then.
Did something happen to its old horn? Are they working on rewiring/fixing 2057 or are they planning to scrap it because it's not worth it anymore?

Well, if that's what was on 3839 a decade ago, I can't disagree. Nothing like being up in the Ada hills and hearing that horn echoing down in the valley. Loved it.

Edit: Actually, now that I think about it, a decade ago would have been MMRR24's horn I was hearing. But yeah, 3839 sounded great when I heard it as well.

I totally agree!
It was the best on 3839, I loved it as a kid around 2009-2013, then it became fouled overtime when it was 2057 in 2014-2017 and now it as MMRR #2019's old horn all of a sudden since 2019.
But there's no telling what happened to its old horn now...
I'm sure whoever swapped its horn should know what happened...
I thought that 3839/2057's old K5LA maybe on an engine MQT #2041 but I could be wrong: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaExLUAdR1s&t=80s
