Conrail fatal crossing accident on the eastside

Along with some of the sane commenters, I wonder because they were shoving and contact was with the passenger door.
But regardless, a person has died.
edit: another story says train took 1000 feet to stop. This isn't mainline. If true, who was protecting the movement seems a legitimate question.
edit #2: looking at picture of stopped train has 3 boxcars, engine stopped on crossing, clearly not 1000 feet. 200 feet max and that makes me wonder if the crew member that should have been riding there is okay.

Looks like NY-7 shoving to Kace from Mack Yard.

It's ironic and interesting that so far the odds of getting hit and killed by a train are at par with a foamer's luck of randomly catching a train on this particular crossing.

The picture of the engine across the road is on a one way street, which would be the middle of the three crossings (Kercheval Ave). With photos in the story of the car after the train was pulled away it is possible that the train was moved back from where it stopped to where it is shown blocking Kercheval Ave. The linked article also says "Gold Nissan". The accident happened around 3:14am at a crossing with lights but no gates.
