This should be WCOR 302, not WSOR. This unit has been at Peaker since May 8, 2018. First coming into Michigan on train Q385 on 4-27-18, went to GRP where it was photographed, brought to Lansing and delivered to Peaker by D708 on May 8th, This unit is a former Quebec North Shore and Labrador Unit. See link below for photo.

[This should be WCOR 302, not WSOR. Forgot to add that this SD40-2 unit is, or was, a Wellsboro & Corning locomotive. This unit has been at Peaker since May 8, 2018. IF ANDREW SAW IT THERE RECENTLY, THEN YES, ITS BEEN THERE SINCE 2018. PEHAPS PEAKER BOUGHT IT BUT DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY WOULD BE USING IT FOR IF THEY DID. [PERHAPS ALL THOSE THAT HAVE BECOME INTERESTED IN PEAKER OF LATE, AND GO TO THE FACILITY, I SUGGEST GOING INTO THE OFFICE AND ASK SOME QUESTIONSS. THE ONLY THING THEY COULD DO WAS TELL YOU TO GET OUT.

You're saying the WCOR loco is paired to CSX 578 (delivered last week) and both are ready to head out?

Update for Jun 26 Bob caught my mistake wcor 302 is there and peakers shop switcher
So today's update Jun 26 wcor is paired with L&I 3001 with csx 578 as well seen outside I believe it was. Outside visible by main road
I know the shop manager very well I'm hopefully being hired next year when I'm 17

They friendly to curious railfans? I'm willing to sign any necessary forms.
What does the shop switcher look like? Thanks for the updates!

CSXT engines #537 + #578 were brought to Grand Rapids on yesterday's D705-03. Today's Q327-04 had CN engine #3838 + CN engine #3245 leading & those 2 CSXT engines bound for Chicago. You can view Q327-04 using the Rewind feature on Bangor's Live Cam until 7:17pm tonight.

Stupid Question but Did L&I 3002 go to Peaker when it was here? It just seems weird why it would be here and not going straight NRE in Silvis, IL…

Yes but that’s only if somebody calls them and says “hey I’ve got an engine can you rebuilt it?”… in this case they called Peaker.

NRE has phased out work at Silvis. Its all done now at Mt. Vernon and Paducah, Kentucky.

They announced it over a year ago.
