Does anybody know why this location is totally closed now? All equipment has been moved out . Of course the depot is not affected unless the club in that might be expanding?

I just drove through there the other day and didn’t even notice everything was gone. It doesn’t seem that maintenance facility was there that long. I know they have one in Niles also across from the Amtrak station so maybe they can do it all from that facility.

American Legion is the club in the depot.

Didn’t even know Amtrak had a facility in Lawton. Probably just consolidated into the Niles maintenance base.

I think there’s one in or around Jackson too for the east end of the line.

The facility has been there a number of years. When the line was resignalled and Herzog ballast hoppers when rail trains were pulled by Amtrak GE's. Always construction equipment there crews had an office inside and they just fenced it in. Not the black fence but chain link.

They also have a small facility at Hinman Yard in Battle Creek.
