This new paint scheme is an official paint job, correct? Not like the Huron and Eastern's 5492 got a few years back?

New LSRC Scheme Revealed

Unread post by Y@ »

Here: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.p ... 546&nseq=0

Kevin Burkholder, a sort of "well-known" railfan was consulted to design the new scheme. It's based on his fictional "Great Lakes Eastern" scheme, which I believe he models in HO.

Looks pretty spiffy to me.

That's a pretty good looking paint scheme.

I would definitely have to say that paint scheme is a lot sharper looking than their old one....kudos to Lake State! 8)

Sweeeet. Only problem is now they can't have a unified fleet for another decade or two! My OCD aside, it looks really, really nice, and I hope they get it on some Geeps soon so I can see them in Alpena. Classy, a kudos to the LSRC and the designer. :D

All three SD40-2's are getting painted first. Grey GP's are next. Then anything not already in one of the blue schemes. Entire fleet supposed to be done within 3-5 years, IIRC.

I really like the paint scheme. The only thing I liked better about the last scheme was the nose stripes, but I'm just nitpicking. Wonderful job! Hopefully someday we'll see a trio of these hauling a freight train south of Flint.

CITX 3100, 3095, 3065, 3067, 3074 and what was 3062 are all owned by LSRC. They're to become 6301, 6302, 6303, 6304, etc. 4300s will be the last units to be done is my understanding.

Well, one of them better be D&M then.

D&M had several paint schemes over the years. Think there was maroon and something, then green and something, maybe a 3rd???

D&M had Maroon & Gray on its diesels originally, then a more simplified maroon & gray, then the dark green and gold ("Football" scheme), then the special scheme developed for the C425s, and finally the lighter green and gold which was only ever applied to 469 and 975 IIRC.
