Well if you don’t want to listen to the 37min podcast here is the rundown

1- stations like Mt Pleasent, Cadillac, and Traverse City will not be converted and stay as brewery’s

2- there will be 1 or 2 event trains to TC maybe during the Cherry Festival. Equipment that would be used would ider be rented or borrowed SRI cars

3- new study

4- if they want to have any speed higher then 60mph GLC, Huron and Eastern and Ann Arbor railroad would be made into Class 4 railroads

5- the rumor of the line between Williamsburg and Kalkaska being rebuilt will not happen

Hey at least they recognize that need. Now only to find the money. Not to mention that Class 4 is essentially worthless without signals.

They also are thinking of making signals and expanding some subdivision and lines

What rumor? There never was one. lol

The Cadillac depot is NOT a brewery. It is called the After 26 Depot Cafe, and is dedicated to employing adults with developmental disabilities and cognitive impairments in Wexford, Missaukee, and Osceola counties.

1- there was a map of the A2TC line and they had 4 options. A normal route from Ann Arbor to Traverse city. A route to expand to Detroit and Williamsburg. A split method in Cadillac to split the train. One goes to TC and one goes to Petoskey. And then a Runt thru opinion which on the plan says they will rebuild the line from Williamsburg to Kalkaska.

2- I know Cadillac is not a brewery. I forgot to mention that sorry

If you are going to reopen abandoned railroads, consider the old C&O north from the GLC west of Cadillac? Any rail line reopening would be expensive considering the proposed service will have a hard time covering operating costs on existing lines.

I'm aware at how much more expensive it is but that's why you build your own line instead of relying on the freight carriers to be benevolent enough to allow passenger trains on their rails.
Build your own line WHERE? And with what money?

There was a rumor that they would do double track from Ann Arbor to Traverse city but they won't do that. They will just expand some sidings and fix some abandons ones to fit GLC, Huron and Eastern and AA railroad trains.

Talk about wild rumors!
Double track for at best one freight train and one passenger train each way each day?
That's 4 total trains.
That hardly justifies a siding anywhere outside of yard limits.

Unemployed or working as a consultant. Either way, he is living off the government. At least he provides us with an evening of useless reading. Maybe in his next proposal he can electrify the line and have it powered by windmills and solar.
