Re: Lansing
Well I went to Lansing this past satuday ( 18 Apr 2009). At the NS Saginaw Yard the MCM GP-9 is pushed outside the fence from the GM plant that is being demolished. Unit faces North and is an AM shot.
Went over to the Conrad Yelvington Yard, their GP-9 is right up to the bumping post, very easy to photograph from the street. Unit faces a little south of East. Padnos scrap unit was not in a position to be photographed.
Did not go by the Lansing BWL Plants. Had scanner on and NO train activity on GTW while I was in Lansing (about 0900-1200). CSXT, no train activity and track inspecter was out inspecting and putting in and tighting track bolts.
When does NS go down the old LSMS Line (Branch) to the SW Section of town, looks interesting. Do not know where Lansing Model RR Club is.

Re: Lansing
Are the starting times still the same for B30 and B28?
What time would they arrive in the Lansing area now?

The club is on the corner of Old Lansing Road and Millet Highway.

Re: Lansing
Starting time are still the same, 7am for the B-30 and 6pm for the B-28. Have no idea now what time they would arrive in Lansing, if they even have to go to Lansing. You might be seeing the instance where if there is no reason to go to Saginaw Yard for CN interchange or Padnos, they might just turn at Lansing Yard (Cavanaugh Rd.) Might even turn at Mason if no steel traffic or anything between Mason and Lansing, hard to tell what NS will do these days, mosstly because they don't know what the heck they're doing themselves. Been proving it in Michigan since 1999.Gregg Pullano wrote:Are the starting times still the same for B30 and B28?

The Conrad Yelvington unit is a GP18 owned by GLLX.KenB wrote:Well I went to Lansing this past satuday ( 18 Apr 2009). At the NS Saginaw Yard the MCM GP-9 is pushed outside the fence from the GM plant that is being demolished. Unit faces North and is an AM shot.

Hogger1225, did you work for CR in Lansing, before NS took over? Got some shots of CR U23B #2774 dropping off CR Jordan spreader #64624 in Lansing yard, in April 1992, will post when I can figure it out.
