Metra removes Bar Cars

Metra is removing the last 10 bar cars operated on the Milwaukee and Rock Island district routes.

No big deal. Even if I rode those trains every day, I would be too busy looking out the window to worry about having a drink in my hand.

I don't know this for certain, but I heard something about LIRR removing the bar cars from their trains. Bad move on their part.

Now. You have to understand that New Yorkers are a different bunch. I have a couple of friends who live on Long Island. Above all, don't piss them off. They will send their 'Uncle Guido" to have a talk with you, and you may not be able to feed yourself for several weeks. OW! Broken knuckles are not just a problem for the railroads.

I'd bet they have relatives living in Chicago. :lol: :wink:

IIRC the LIRR did try, but the commuters put up such a fight that they had to keep them on, or risk a loss of a lot of people. It seams they came to a aggrement that they only run on fridays and saturdays or somthing along those line.
