I took a drive down the line to Wabash and noticed some signal work (crossing signals) in North Manchester.

One other thing I noticed at nearly every unsignalled crossing I saw between New Paris and Wabash ... stop signs. There were many crossing with two stop signs, one on the same post as the crossbucks and one placed in front of the crossbucks (as the driver approaches). Odd as the sign in front of the crossbucks obscures vision of the crossbucks. There were also a lot of crossings where the sign below the crossbucks was a yield sign and the sign in front was a stop sign.
Stop or Yield
Stop or Yield
I assume the stop signs will be removed at some point? For now, the most restrictive indication is stop.

This confusing arrangement also exists at the T intersection along old SR 15 between CP 19 and CP 21. This is where a county road crosses the main line and signaled siding then Ts to old SR 15.

Say it isn't so! I was hoping they would wait til next spring to do this. Need to make one more trip out there to wrap up shooting the intermediates and get more photos of the classic pedestal dwarfs. Looks like it must be done sooner than later... :(

A quick trip today ... it looks like Interrail is working their way south. The new signals are up for 6N/6S and 9N/9S and on the ground at 14N/14S and 16N/16S. The three signals for CP 19 are at the next road crossing to the north. I saw the signals for Warsaw in Claypool as reported.

One other thing to note. the crossing between CP 19 and CP 21 at CR 600 is getting lights (including cantilever signals) and gates. This is a T intersection with old SR 15.

Interesting that it says CP Warsaw. I had heard the automatic was being made into a control point

The one on the left is marked 2S for 2 South, so this would be the north facing Southbound signal. The other is marked 4W So this would be the East facing westbound signal.

GOOD WORK.

Keep watch at Millford Junction. We might get a CSX display on the NS side there.

All four signals are near the diamond at Claypool. The other two are on the opposite side of the tracks.
The signals are:
4W A,B (top head 2 lamps, bottom head 1 lamp)
4E A,B (top head 2 lamps, bottom head 1 lamp)

2S A,B (top head 3 lamps, bottom head 2 lamps)
2N A,B (top head 3 lamps, bottom head 2 lamps)

BTW: I noticed signs two signals away from Warsaw ... leaving CP 21 southbound and at 30N ... indicating "AUTOMATIC INTERLOCKING AHEAD RULE 280 APPLIES". I do not recall seeing them before but it has been a while since I have been in the area in daylight.

There are new concrete bases on the ground at Milford. Perhaps the signals will arrive soon.

The new approach signals to Milford Jct are single head (similar to the approach signals to Warsaw). The approach signals to CP 19 and CP 21 are two head. I am expecting an NS display (3 lamps over 2 similar to Warsaw) but it would be interesting to see a CSX display there (3 lamps over 1 using flashing red for the restricting). How often does an NS train get restricting at Milford Jct?

CP 19 signals are erected ...
CP 19 North Leesburg
CP 19 North Leesburg
Southbound Signal
Southbound Signal
A crane helped set the new siding signal just before 3pm Saturday.

16N/16S is not erected - there is a problem with the signal. The base was installed on the east side of the tracks (the same as the new location of 6N/6S, 9N/9S and 14N/14S) but the signal was built for the west side of the tracks. The two head side is on the wrong side of the signal.

Thanks for the update. I planned on getting out but decided that first snowfall weekend was not a good time to be on the roads.
