Hmm, okay. I guess that explains why no signals have been lined through there (that I've seen). Maybe it's just been broadcasting data for since before 1:30 PM CT for test purposes??

How do you find that out, I can't see to get any information about it and the Google instructions are flat out wrong

It has been transmitting for about a week but the bit pattern wasn't useful (no NWK/RWK).

The "Imagery Date" is at the bottom of the screen on Google Earth.
(The date is not showing from CP 497 to CP 501.)

Thanks, it doesn't seem to work though and it screws up my browser. Maybe the pro version

Here is the aerial shot for CP 498, annotated.
CP498-May.png
I have marked the westbound signal and the cantilever. I am not sure where the eastbound siding signal will be.

Unless NS cleared more land since May, it appears that the yard lead will pass just north of the cantilever before joining the lead at the north side of the yard.

498 was on, but it was not connected to anything in the field. Basically just the radio connected to the interlocking and that was it.

CP 498 on Sunday ... (intermediates 4981E/4982E lit)
CP498 Aug 14th.jpg
The signals in the foreground are the former track 1 intermediate signals (4991E/4991W).

The panel track to the north (left) appears to be ready to connect the new siding with the old when the old east end yard switch (shown) is removed.

I did not see the new lead to the north side of the yard. Although I did notice that the Clark Rd crossing through the east end of Pine Yard was signed with a "CN" crossing registration phone number. I expected that multi-track crossing to be owned by NS.

40 MPH speed restriction at CD 482.3 right now on track #1. Not sure if it's for track #2 also.

I stopped by (future) CP498 on Saturday ... no major changes. The old track 1 intermediate remains in the way of the new track. It looks like some ballast work has been done east of the old signal.

The new yard lead is strange. It appears that the track is being built parallel to the new Pine Siding on the north side of the cantilever signal base. A WB train taking the siding would pass the WB mast signal, go through the turnout, then go around the cantilever base. It appears that there is a dwarf signal at the base of the cantilever that will be used for any eastbound trains that leave the yard.

I finally remembered to look west at Clark Rd. :D
CP 500 from Clark Rd
CP 500 from Clark Rd
(Nothing to report as changed at CP498.)

FYI: Someone on another forum took a picture of a CSX train entering CP 501. The photo shows the former PRR switch removed and the track leading to Clark Jct disconnected.

CP 498 has been turned back on (it was on for a bit when CP 500 was turned on, but someone turned it off a few days later).

Happened at 12 noon exactly.

CP 498

Effective 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, 11-02-16,
A new #1 power switch and power derail has been installed at MP 498.8, for Westward movements from the Pine Siding Track to the Pine Lead Track.

2W Home Signal located to the right of the Pine Siding on a High signal mast at MP CD 498.7
2EA Home Signal located over and to the right of the Pine Siding track on a cantilever mast at MP CD 498.8
2ED Home Signal located to the right of the Pine Lead Track on a Dwarf signal at MP CD 498.8

Electric Lock Mechanism has been installed at the following location. This is time locking only.
1. Pine Yard switch located on Pine Siding Track, Mile Post CD 499.3.

It will now be 261 territory on the Pine Siding between CP497 and CP 500

Looks like they will have a 3rd connection into the yard that is a hand throw.

It also looks like NS is now totally blind to anything past the initial AK circuit off CP 482 for Amtrak for NORTHBOUNDs only.

So are you not seeing indications or controls for the 7WG signal (Amtrak CP 238 WB)?

South/West bound it all works like it should. And I am now told that the 7WG reflects a southbound indication on Amtrak CP at the south end of the siding.

North/East bounds now disappear completely from 482 indications once they clear the Amtrak CP at the south end of the siding
