Wheeling and Lake Erie

Unread post by matt76 »

I'm railfanning the W&LE between Greenwich and Spencer this Thursday. Just wandering if anyone knows the best time to catch trains in this area?

The only one I know of for certain is a rock train out of Carey, that comes east through Greenwich at sunrise most mornings.

I believe the freight shows up in Willard early in the morning and goes back east
the next day. The rock business is so good that they will start shipping a unit train from Carey to West Carrollton Ohio just immediate east of the Canton area. I dont know where that other rock trains goes but they had to build a 10000 foot siding to accommodate the extra traffic.
