Unusal Move - NS Chi line
While out along the NS Chicago line, I caught this interesting move of equipment. I think the ID of the train was 098. It was heading east towards Ohio around 11:40 AM.

Thanks for the ID. I'll make note of it. As far as cloudf'd, yes I did. lolY@ wrote:'Twas train 058, and I see you got cloudf***ed on it as well.

Hmmmm...a transformer, an excavator, another piece of unidentifiable machinery, a tank, and what looks like, by the green color, a piece of farm equipment. Maybe to construct an ethanol plant? And the tank to protect the project site?

It was indeed a combine.SW wrote:and what looks like, by the green color, a piece of farm equipment.

Your unidentifiable machine is a Cat wheel loader. This would be the back half of either a 988, but more likely, a 992.SW wrote:another piece of unidentifiable machinery
Re: Unusal Move - NS Chi line
great photos. I have seen the occasional movement like that in the past sometimes as long as the one you photographed sometimes shorter. usually the shorter ones consist of either stuff from Cat or track pannels. most of the "file" trains I have seen are usually unit trains of tractors or hummers.

Re: Unusal Move - NS Chi line
Y@ - just a suggestion to improve future shots there - I understand wanting to included the water tower which is a great idea but it looks like it's growing out of the cab of the engine. Placing it a little ahead of or behind the cab would look a little better. Still a nice shot but just a thought for the future.Y@ wrote:Here's my cloudy shot in Edgerton.

Looks more like the body of a 992, it has the hydralic cylinders on it. Also maybe a 336 excavor?

Re: Unusal Move - NS Chi line
They mixed them because why send 5 seperate high/wide loads when you can send it in one?
