More crews out today in the cold rain working on the south end. Rumor is that tie installations will start on Thursday, but will see, with snow in the forecast the rest of this week. Also, the DERR purchased two former Western Maryland SD35s from the Maryland Northern RR. They are to be re-numbered to #1302 and #1303 One of the coolest things about these locos is that they still remain in, albeit faded, WM's Red & White "Circus" Scheme. Their plans for paint and service are currently unknown....

DCT-26 trundling through the rain, approaching the distant signal east of Bluffton. DERR 1200, 1204, and 22 cars (7 CHs for Central Soya, 8 hoppers for Rimer, 3 coke mtys for CSX, and 4 mty pellet hoppers from CSP).

G100-26 shoving an empty grain train from CSX around the connection at Carey. DERR 1201, 1202, 1203, and 1205 all for power, plus caboose #3109 on the rear. He should be heading west here in a couple minutes.
"Alright, uh, get to a stop here and we'll order you a party bus for Lima" -12/30/16

"He ain't one of them terrorists, is he?" "Nah, just some paparazzi. We never get them out here!" -03/12/19

DCT-27 accelerating out of Columbus Grove. DERR 1204 and 1205 with (6 CHs for Central Soya, 8 CHs and 2 lime hoppers for Rimer, and 5 mty pellet hoppers from CSP)

DVT-27 brought one of the DERR MofW boxcars down to Landeck, along with two flat cars. Came back to Delphos at 1:49pm. DERR 1200 solo with 14 cars (10 CHs from D&D, 4 CHs from Hemker).

G101-27 approaching Jenera, gonna pick up the other half of the grain train before dragging it to Carey for CSX. Both SD18s, DERR 1300 and 1301, plus RS-3s #1201 and 1203 for power.

The major work on the south end will start tomorrow, with the replacing of ties starting south of the yard in Delphos. While this whole project goes on, a curfew from 8:30am to 4pm will be in effect. This means the DVT will not be running until anytime after 4pm.

In other news, our ten new covered hoppers arrived at the end of last week. The will be patched for DERR and numbered from 33331 to 33340.

DCT-28 working the elevator at Jenera, dropping off 3 of 6 CHs from the Maumee Southern. DERR 1205, 1203, and 1200 with 29 cars (10 CHs for Central Soya, 3 CHs for Pandora, 5 mty coke hoppers for CSX, 7 open hoppers for Rimer, and 4 mty pellet hoppers from CSP).

The rehab of the former Cloverleaf south of Delphos has begun. DERR and Balfour Beatty crews began replacing ties and doing work on the roadbed in and south of Delphos at around 9am this morning. The crews made it about 2.5 miles, right in between Delphos and Landeck, where they are now going off duty. The Delphos-Venedocia turn is on duty and is organizing its cars in Delphos.

DCT-01 heading west between Jenera and Bluffton. DERR 1201 and 1200 with (6 CHs for Central Soya, 3 CHs for MSRR, 5 mty coke hoppers for CSX, 4 open hoppers and a lime CH for Rimer, and 2 mty pellet hoppers from CSP) Going to make a pick-up of 3 in Pandora and set-outs in CG and Rimer before heading to Delphos.

DVT-01 organizing the train in Delphos. DERR 1205 for power... Looks to have around 14 cars today heading out.

Good news, your SD35s are on the way. They are on train BPS-1. They should be in Pittsburg by 11:30pm, and I have already given the PC a heads up. The SD35s are being towed by their one time predecessors, a pair of the only operating WM M-2 class Challengers. A fitting farewell for these hardworking diesels. Hope they run great for you guys.

Awesome, we will have them from the PC in a couple days. That's neat they'll be towed by their predecessor steam locomotives, quite the feature. I'm sure they'll be great locos for us, they sound like good pullers. Keep me posted on their run to Pittsburgh.

They left Cumberland at 10:30. BPS is an empty steel train so it will actually be easy on the '35s as they head north. They maybe dirty when they arrive, they were placed behind the headend power (the switch crew was supposed to put them on the tail.) so, hope you dont mind soot on them, sorry.

No problem. Don't really mind much when an engine has a little bit of road grime, I think it gives it a little bit of character. ;) We can always wash it down if it gets too bad, though.

well, BPS-1 just went around the horseshoe curve at Mance, pa. This would give the estimated time of arrival in Pittsburg around 12:30.

That's great. We'll have them by the end of the weekend, then.

Im sorry for all the delays, but BPS-1 has stopped again in Rockwood. The lead engine is getting replenished. I have to say at this point, the train will be tied down in rockwood and will continue for Pittsburg in the morning. I know the suspense is terrible, but they are on the way. From Rockwood, its about 1 1/2 maybe 2 hours ride. the SD35s will definitely be dropped off at the PC/MN interchange tomorrow.

No worries, man. Understandable. Just let us know when they arrive in Pittsburg tomorrow. :)

Will do, I would estimate BPS-1 to arrive in Pittsburg around 12:30pm-1:00pm. It wont leave first thing in the morning because of morning traffic.

Sorry, i lost track of time. BPS-1 stopped in Connellsville, PA around 12:30 for coal and water. They are on the move now, leaving at 12:45. The train is now in McKeesport, so in the next 30 min or so, it will be in Pitts yard.

The SD35s are at the PC/MN interchange, it all depends on when the PC gets them.
