Nothing random about that at all, that's the end of the Grand Rapids yard limits. They will often pull and wait there until they get the blocks to head south from the dispatcher.

Marquette Rail reported a train length of 3,938 ft long at 10:46am. He’s going to double up on track 27 and track 19 after setting off his cars at Grand Rapids Terminal
