Four trains met between Cedar (MP 221) and Okemos (MP 227) this afternoon between 15:00 and 16:00 including E251 with BCOL 4644.
15:00 - eastbound by MP 225 on M1, 3047 and 2901 leading manifest traffic, stopping at Okemos to meet E251.
15:20 - E251 by East Lansing Station (MP 223) on M2 with 5701 and BCOL 4644 (elephant style) leading manifest traffic. Second EB approaching the diamond.
15:33 - westbound by MP 225 on M2 with 2280 and 5622 leading intermodal and racks.
15:50 - eastbound by MP 225 on M1 with 3280 and 3876 (rear DPU) with manifest traffic.

CN Flint Sub Review

Durand portion:
02:40 - R944, Flint yard job, with CN 5438 solo has picked up the autoracks stored on the South Pass on the Holly Sub and is shoving them back on the Chicago Wye to M2 of the Flint Sub
03:05 - EB R944 with CN 5438 solo and the formerly stored autoracks across the diamond in Durand on M2
03:27 - WB L501 with CNx2 and GTW 4906 3/3 thru Durand on M1
03:40 - EB L500 with CN 2229/CN 2306 at Durand on M2 - they will eventually crossover to M1 before shoving into Durand Yard on the Port Huron Wye. This train has about 50 manifest cars and the 100-car empty grain train from GLC a week ago. It came into Battle Creek as G80591.
04:03 - L500 is shoving onto the PH Wye
04:26 - WB A491 with CNx2 thru Durand on M2
04:52 - L500 is finally completely into Durand Yard. They have set off the 100- car grain train as well as some manifest cars.

05:10 - EB L500 departs Durand Yard - some loaded autoracks on the head end for Eastern Canada or Lang Yard that they picked up in Lansing

00:41 - EB L500 with CN 2229/CN 2306 - this train has Lansing set off cars on the head end, a block for Flint, a block of cars for Durand (HESR) and a 100-car empty grain train for GLC/ZFS - G805 was the grain train symbol and that came in from Mound City, IL

Passing MP 22.5 right now. 5831 is in blue still (rough shape) and must be one of those remote controlled units from the doodads on the cab roof. Where would they use it downriver? A much longer train than lately with plenty of autoracks. Phew.

I drove under the Holly sub bridge at Orchard Lake and Woodward (directly north of Pontiac Amtrak station) and there were 6 or 7 autoracks sitting on one of the mainlines all by their lonesome. I couldn’t tell if they were on M1 or M2. I had the green to cross Woodward so I didn’t have time to gawk. I heard a horn soon after, but it may have been the Charger that I also saw sitting on the siding at the station pointed northbound.
