But here's my question. Why did they take the time to wye the sd40 in Plymouth in the first place? I'm thinking they are having issues with it.

But here's my question. Why did they take the time to wye the sd40 in Plymouth in the first place? I'm thinking they are having issues with it.

Likely the engine has some sort of mechanical issue that prevents it from being a lead unit. Possibly missed by the inbound crew, or maybe something happened while it was sitting.

2:43 - B222-26 with a 3 man crew departing Webberville. CSX 3214 + 8839 and 85 cars. The SD40-2 is just along for the ride sitting in idle.

2:54 - Clear Fowlerville.

3:16 - Clear Ann Pere.

3:28 - Clear Brighton.

3:43 - Clear South Lyon.

Headlight/ditch light failure was the culprit. Worked when the inbound crew spun it in Plymouth so wasn't a known issue.
