Re: Great Lakes Central Updates July 2022
GLC OSTN last night ran a unit train of corn to Osmer - 89 cars for AARR/NS or CSX
ONTN ran an 91 car unit train loaded w corn from MMRR down to Durand overnight.
Also a buddy of mine got stopped on 127 by GLC earlier this week with a massive train - either a bean shuttle or a corn train. Friend lost count in the 80s but it kept going after that.
An impressive harvest last year has led to quite the extended grain season for the railroads in 2022.

Nice to meet you also. It's too bad you caught them on an abbreviated run day.Steamlogger wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 12:16 pmHere is one of several videos I took this morning Great Lakes Central on their run to McBain. It was nice to meet AARNscaleRunner this morning

They pulled ZFS loads and other fertilizer empties on Wednesday, replaced it with a unit train off of CN Wednesday night in Middleton. MAC was trying to finish loading Friday, train was mostly P&H car's with CN hoppers mixed in. MAC brought in their outdoor corn pile over the last couple weeks.

Nice. Thanks for the update. I haven’t been doing reviews of the cam lately due to workloads but good to see that the export trains are still moving.railroader and son wrote: ↑Sat Jul 02, 2022 8:52 amThey pulled ZFS loads and other fertilizer empties on Wednesday, replaced it with a unit train off of CN Wednesday night in Middleton. AANR, I like your elevated videos.
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

This train from Middleton is about to depart.railroader and son wrote: ↑Sat Jul 02, 2022 8:52 amThey pulled ZFS loads and other fertilizer empties on Wednesday, replaced it with a unit train off of CN Wednesday night in Middleton. Yesterday, CN dropped off another G886 104-car grain empty. This went to The Andersons in Oakley. More corn for Parrish & Heimbecker in Western Canada

396 and 399 left Cadillac for Clare at 0940 with 7 cars. Plenty more to pick up in McBain.

Switching McBain for awhile around 11:00am. Took out 5 loads of lumber and a dozen or so empties from the power place. 2 inquiries about my intentions.

Didn’t make it to McBain today. My trip to Lake City is almost over. (I think you are related to my in-laws.)AANscaleRunner wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 11:41 am396 and 399 leaving Cadillac for Clare approximately 1130.

If we share the same last name, chances are good. Not a very common name.Plannerdad wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 7:30 pmDidn’t make it to McBain today. My trip to Lake City is almost over. It is the Miller/Lawrence branch from Lake City and Bellevue. Most of the time I go to Lake City, I miss GLC. First time I’ve seen them switching McBain. It is a really interesting small town railroading operation, which continues to expand.AANscaleRunner wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 6:39 amIf we share the same last name, chances are good.
