Shortline Train Location Updates - May 2022

HESR 3390 took an empty unit train from Durand to Brown City yesterday. Cars were not the P&H ones I reported on in a CN post but all ZFS-pool covered hoppers. HESR 3390 had brought down about 85 empty sand cars solo on 4/29 last week for CN.

Grand Elk south through Byron Center at 1:22pm. WAMX 4124, WAMX 4125 and 52 cars. Crawled by, probably still a slow order near Buck Creek.

Thx MQT1223. I assume you more mean Moline, but close enough.
Grand Elk north through Byron Center at 3:40pm. WAMX 4125, WAMX 4124, and 65 cars.
Back south at 6:07pm with 29 cars, same power.

GDLK south through Plainwell at 8:41PM. I don't think they stopped as there were no cars set out on the Otsego branch earlier.

Grand Elk North through Byron Center at 5:45pm. Wamx 4009, 4125 and 4124, approx 25 cars. Of note was a short gone of MOW equipment with a long flatcar behind it loaded with sections of rail. Also a loaded centerbeam probably for L&W.

Grand Elk back south through Byron Center at 10:02pm. 3 locos, front in LHF, with approx 27 cars.

Well, he said "presumably" a 303 is heading north, and 303 goes to GR so I just put two and two together.

JAIL 1760/1751 sitting at Ensel. Track crew working on a coil car. They worked CN this morning and picked up a boxcar to take to Michigan Packaging. Looks like they dropped off three boxcars for CSX.

Seeing as though the train with 3531 and 3807 didn't seem to make it to Grand Rapids yesterday and the other train went north and back south, can only guess they worked industries on the north side of Kzoo or Plainwell, or even up to Wayland, but didn't go further north.

1751 now on the head end so leading SHF, not as the good lord intended.
One boxcar, two coils and three tank cars.
L305 also working in Ensel right now.

That would make sense, wish I'd had a scanner with me so I could have known for sure.
