It’s interesting to see how lately they have been cycling new power thru on L302/303. 7896/254 led Q510 into Rougemere. Didn’t even have to Wye the power.
L301-30 @ 10:27 Grand Rapids, Mi job briefing with the RN Dispatcher: CSX engine #4384 & 61 cars (24 loads + 37 empties) @ 4,114 tons & 3,447 feet long. He’ll be coming off of the Odd Track at Lamar & proceed westward into Holland.
Z151 arrived Wyoming Yard @ 10:30 with 4 units and a land barge. L303's power is still sitting at east towewr while the scrap dealers are being switched. Departing the yard with 82 cars at 11:37.
L301-30 @ 11:42 westward reported by the DD mp CG19.1 with 250 axles & 3,392 feet long. CSX engine #4384 & 61 cars (24 loads + 31 empties). He’ll head into Holland. He was sitting at mp CG19 for a bit with an engine issue but had resolved the problem with the Mechanic Dept's help line.

@12:56 L303 contacted dispatch and said they needed to turn there power due to no third seat in the 7898. Sadly we will not be seeing our dash 8 lead today.
Note: at 22:24 heard Rouge asking L302 "did you guys pick up engines?" and L302 had replied "yes, we picked up 2 at Lansing". No mention was made what these engines were. I am assuming those 2 engines were 6 axle types & that would change the DD report to: CSX engines #254 + #7896 + 2 & 54 cars.
Would "assume" the two units were 5332+296 from the Webberville grain empty that was spotted in the plant by 07:00 Sunday morning. Crew probably took the power to Lansing after spotting the train.
R597-29 @ 12:49 copied their EC1 to depart the West Olive, Mi power plant mp CGP 1.0 & head to Wells Siding mp CG41.4 & tie down with BNSF engine #5985 & 130 empty coal cars & rear dpu BNSF engine #8566 & CSX engines #3138 + #717.

The 3rd seat is needed today due to L303's crew having a trainee along with them.

Not sure why they are in the habit of leaving trains without power at Webberville or Grand Ledge when they are turning them so quickly but that definitely seems to be the trend for the last month or two.

532 axles is correct for E801-30.
130 x 4 axles each = 520
2 engines x 6 axles each = 12
520 + 12 = 532

Yes, true, but I don't post the numbers as fact unless I actually hear them clearly. A Track Inspector at that precise moment had decided to have a conversation with L303 during the moments when the DD44.2's axle & length data were being transmitted.

Okay, I also dislike calls being interrupted while I’m listening for another train call.
