I think CN pulls loads from an auto component plant (stampings?) on the Rouge Steel complex and gives them to NS at Melvindale Yard who takes them to Atlanta and Kansas City (I am guessing on the locations). At least they were doing this around 10 years ago and I still see the 86' box cars on the various Dearborn Sub sidings getting moved around by CN.

Thanks for the info. I see em all along 94 when I drive down there. Didn’t know if still in use or stored. I love the big cam opener Conrail ones or the large lower case I logo for Illinois Central.

Even 10 years ago it averaged 15-20 cars per day.

NS 8025 is leading 31M today. Solo unit… as of 658am, it’s still doubling at Sterling

Now as of 710 they’re done and leaving.
