12:06 CT: he’s got the GP60s he always does, sandwiching two six-axles. He has an empty grain train. East over the South Shore at 10th St in Michigan City at this time, stabbing South Shore train 107.

7:06 PM: HEADS UP: 352 has at least one Siemens venture car on the tail tonight.

7:38 PM: Amtrak 352 is about to turn at Milwaukee Junction with a venture car on the tail.

352 was 2 hours, 41 minutes late into Pontiac, but I did see the venture car in Royal Oak.

Hey @Buster Manning, are the venture cars actually being used or are they being tested if you’re allowed to say?

There was an unusual meet this morning near Town Line; a very late 354 waited for 351 to come off the connection. I thought 351 turned from 354's equipment, so maybe he turned from 352?

Nope, two sets overnight at Pontiac and one in Chicago. 350 becomes 355, 352 becomes 351, and 354 becomes 353. I wanna say all of the trainsets actually are on 24-hour turns simply running back and forth as the above pairing.

I have no idea what they are being tested on.....afaik, the only people that ride in them is a technician of some sort for the car builder and maybe a curious Amtrak employee or two

All I know is that those cars feel heavier than Amtrak's cars and that dragging that thing around on the rear of our trains is like dragging a boat anchor....beginning to see why Brightline uses two motors on their consists

Looks like Chicago is in meltdown mode tonight. As of 10:17 CT:

#364 left Chicago 5h17m late, due to "engine issues" according to Amtrak's Twitter.
#354 has yet to depart Chicago, he should have left 4.5 hours ago, no updates on him at all.

#50, the Cardinal is also massively delayed by over 4 hours due to engine problems as well. Not sure what's up with #59, the City of New Orleans, but he's still at Chicago as well and should have departed well over an hour ago.

Tonight's P370 reported to have Amtrak engine #518 (B32-8WH) as power. Scheduled Bangor, Mi station stop is 9:49pm ET. Then, returning on tomorrow morning's P371 with a 7:31am Bangor station stop.

8:08 AM: 351 is currently 1 hour and 26 minutes behind, just getting into detroit, lost of all its time in Troy…

P370 with the two Horizon car consist again tonight instead of Superliners. Charger SC-44 4620 for power tonight.

4624 attached to the consist south end of Pontiac station track. 4617 parked at north end.

I forgot we had Amtrak updates here. Last night Vinnie5497 on this board caught it on 352 last night around 7:00pm.
