Maybe - it's more like they ran on Monday, but then didn't run again until Friday, so maybe the local was doing work, plus transfers with CSX during the week. No GDLK yet today.

The Elk was in Plainwell about 6:50ish this evening. I'm unsure of which direction.

Northbound Elk thru Elkhart at 11:13am with the first 46 cars being empty short covered hoppers, 64 cars total. Not sure where the shorties are going as these (I think) are usually those frac sand type cars, so maybe they are for storage, unless the Elk picked up some new business somewhere. I am very curious about this, so that is someone's homework assignment to find out and get back with us.

Thanks.

They’ve been storing a ton of sand hoppers in GR. Supposedly a number of them went south this week.

I rode the Little River railroad “Hillsdale Flyer” on Sunday from Coldwater to H-dale and back over the Old Road of the Indiana Northeastern RR. I noted the following:

Several tankcars on the new transload spur just west of the Coldwater depot.

No cars on the siding at Star of the West in Quincy - do they still get rail service?

2 BNSF covered hoppers at Sun Gro east of Quincy.

The switch is still in at the Con Agra site east of there. No service for a long while, obviously.

3 scrap gons at Omnisource in Jonesville. Two more gons were at the south end of the new passing siding in that area, south of Jonesville Junction.

A variety of tankcars and covered hoppers on tracks at Hillsdale near and west of the wye. 2230 was tied down with a “branch and brush” consist near the INER division office building.

Thanks for the updates. I was just speaking with SD80MAC about how that whole SW corner, between MSO, INER, the NS freights on the Amtrak line (including the unit grain trens) and the GRE are not covered very well either here or on some of the bigger FB groups. Glad to get an update from you and everyone else observing down there.
