D705-16 was by Howell at 09:09 this morning with 68 cars. 249+3356 on the head end again.
D705-16 @ 13:23 westward reported by the DD mp CH126.3 with 284 axles. CSX engines #249 + #3356 & 68 cars.
705 must have picked up a couple of units in Lansing. Heard through the grapevine that 4 units were on the train as it arrived into GR.
Thank you for that info :) I had checked back thru the posts & found D708-15 had brought CSX engines #594 + #509 from Peakers to Lansing which probably were the 2 additional engines on today's D705. That would change the car count to 65.

No. I believe they were having some issues with the power so they had to change them up. Still working on that.

D700 left West out of Holland at 22:27, and Amtrak is just now arriving at 22:54, 20 minutes late. Another poor decision from the dispatcher.

Oh, and they also threw in D801-16 lite power into the mix, too. Both D801 (on the north leg of the Wye) & D700 (on the Pass Track) were waiting in Holland for Amtrak. I thought both were going to wait in Holland until Amtrak completed his station work in Holland. Instead, they ran D801 westward with D700 following him & they both went into Saugatuck siding at mp CG32.

If anything, D700 should have gone west 1st with D801 following because D801 is going to tie up the main track to dp the N800-14 that has a single BNSF engine leading & a single BNSF engine as a rear DPU. D700 is going to have to wait until that coal train gets DP'd & moves eastward.

The next shift RN Dispatcher told N800 to move his train eastward from Grand Junction siding to Wells siding to get DP'd there. N800 said they can't do that because they already broke away their leading engine to add the 2 CSX engines. Now that I just do not understand - why not just add the 2 CSX engines to the front of the BNSF leader instead of behind it?? They did this exact same thing the other day, too, with a loaded coal train having a single leader & a single rear DPU.

This is a recent change BNSF has done with their loaded coal trains, 1 engine on the front & 1 rear dpu engine.

D706 clear the 28th street overpass. Neat to go under a train at this spot, never done it before.
