GRE 2104 departing Ann Street yard with 8 covered hoppers eastbound.

JAIL came north today and was seen switching Padnos. Pulled two gons out of there.

Grand Elk north at Byron Center at 4:10pm. WAMX 4124 and WAMX 4009 with 16 cars. Heard their horn quite a few crossings to the south thanks to the south wind today. Had enough time to get in the backyard for a photo.
Back south approx 6pm with a number of what looked like sand hoppers, about 15 cars total.

Grand Elk north through Byron Center at 2:43pm, WAMX 4124 and WAMX 4017 with 14 cars. Sunny day - perhaps they'll be back south in daylight today if they have a quick turnaround.
Well that was too quick of a turnaround - back south at 4:12pm with 4017 leading 4124 and 27 cars.

Z151 inbound past Ann St. Same power as yesterday with Sd-40 3408 leading.

GDLK was NB from Plainwell at 6:15. Got to the crossing late so I didn't catch the numbers on the power, but they were both black, one with the GDLK emblem. Twenty-six (I think) cars, mostly tanks and CHs. Saw 1 loaded center beam.

Just curious, is GDLK switching somewhere in between Plainwell & Byron Center or are they only running 10 mph?
The only time I have seen them was between Three Rivers & Portage and that train seemed to be moving right along.

Yes, they do have work on their way north, if the businesses require it. They run faster than 10, but don't know their speed limit.

There is the list of Grand Elk customers. They have work at Bay Valley Foods in Wayland. There's two other customers that they definitely switch southbound, if they have traffic for them: Nutrien Ag Solutions in Moline, and Transcendia in Martin. There's also CHS in Wayland, but I don't know if they switch them north or southbound as they have leads facing both directions.

GRE 2104 getting organised at Ann St. Only a couple of cars in here today compared to Monday when the yard was almost full. Going east with just 2 covered hoppers.

Track speed on the GDLK between Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids is 25 mph. As Z said, quite a few customers between Plainwell and Byron Center.
