Amtrak has publicly posted schedules and you can also follow their trains live online.
But I certainly love your faith in the railfan community lol

I’m thinking Buster was implying that news of the PV in the consist sure brought a lot of fans trackside. He would know that Amtrak schedules and tracker are available online
What was the Michigan destination of this SAL private car? Anyone know when it will be heading back west? I think this is the only one of these that is Amtrak certified.

You can call Julie 1-800-USARAIL and ask for train status. When prompted for particular train, say 818. Specify Dearborn for station. On time as of 1100.

Sitting here in Battle Creek right now at CP Gord. Just heard someone get cleared through CP 116 and have to pull off to the siding to let a test train through.
Don't know what everything means, but it does mean 819 has NOT passed through Battle Creek yet.

It sounds like they're going to let 364 (Blue Water) arrive at Battle Creek before they let the test train (819) through.

AMTK 819 just cleared Baron into CN after diagnosing PTC issues. PTC issues are still occuring, so this train maybe held here for a few minutes.

Whats up with Amtrak north to Grand Rapids, on May 5. It was 45 mins late into Bangor, i.e. about 10:30pm. Now it has been sitting for9 -11 mins (10:41pm).
Also, did anyone notice that motive power was not the usual?

Well "the usual" these days are Chargers; although there are still some P42s that can run on the line... and I think Amtrak has a B32 with the PTC system installed.
