Amtrak #300 and #301 ALC-42's passed the Chesterton webcam at 10:30 am. Will be testing the AMl this week.

Per ASM - Amtrak 354 to Pontiac, Amtrak 370 to Grand Rapids, and Amtrak 30 to Washington DC all have service disruptions tonight.
Am thinking it was the CP 509 movable bridge. CARDINAL 50 left CHI 5 min before 354 and was only a few minutes late at its first station - Dyer, IN.

For the past three nights I've seen on Amtrak.com train status a symbol of 971 heading west from Jackson at 10:30 pm and arriving as 972 at 5 am. Have not seen times at BTL or KAL. I believe this was the test train with ENG 300-301. Where is the train turning and what are the tests accomplishing?

I heard it went as far as West End Chelsea before turning back to Jackson.

Amtrak 970 getting ready to leave Jackson yard with a P42 leading the 301 and 2 cars. Ducking into Chelsea siding to clear for B25 then returning to Jackson. Should be a run around at Chelsea. 12:24a

WOLVERINE schedules changed today. 351 the same thru Kalamazoo but arrives Chicago at 10:32 AM - 15 min earlier. 353 leaves Pontiac 33 min later, holding this schedule thru Hammond; arrives CHI at 2:50 PM - 18 min later
355 the same thru Hammond but arrives CHI at 10:40 PM - 15 min earlier.
350 and 352 each leave CHI 15 min later and regain previous times at Dearborn
354 leaves CHI at 5:50 PM (10 min earlier) and arrives Pontiac at 1:01 AM - 15 min earlier
Supposedly the previous temporary schedules had extra time for M/W. Will be interested to hear from you guys whether there is still M/W taking place.

350 had the Beech Grove on the tail end today.
The train is not being wyed in Pontiac.
355 will have 4625 and 4629.

19:26 CT: Eastbound which came out of the NS Burns Harbor Yard is rolling onto the Amtrak Michigan Line at CP 482 presently. Based on its apparent length on ATCS, and the timing, I am assuming that this is a grain train for Decatur.

There is no “normal” for the car, It alternates everyday other day. The entire train is wyed in Chicago whereas only the locomotive is wyed in Pontiac.

19:48 CT: NS empty grain train east at the 10th Street Interlocking at Michigan City. NS 7146, 4090, 9840, 7148, and 86 cars if I counted right. Real bummer that it’s dark already!

What I mean is I’ve never seen the baggage car on the front of 355 as opposed to the back

it's happened before......and it'll happen again....no rhyme or reason to it
