Spotted what I’m guessing is a stopped D706 on the 28th street overpass. I’m guessing their head end is around Schaffer?
D905-28 (D705) @ 05:03am westward reported from Seymour mp CH148.1 with CSX engines #738 + #3211 (dpu?). No DD reports found in the archives for mp CH104.3 & CH126.3 Too many other radio calls stepping on D905's radio calls. Too bad they don't use a Yard Channel for Rouge & the moves inside Grand Rapids - those radio calls just dominate everything else trying to be heard on the Road Channel. Same situation with Amtrak P370 & P371 when they're inside Grand Rapids.

Grain empty V714 went west by Howell at 09:23 with CSX 127+569 on the head end and 92 cars, After taking a 45 minute delay at Fowlerville waiting for MofW ahead to clear up, they proceeded west again. If it doesn't show up in Lansing, then it went to Webberville again.

My mom just sent me the picture attached below. It's a City of Brighton Facebook post saying:
"CSX is conducting a controlled burn of the tracks today. Please note that all safety measures and precautions will be followed."

Anyone know what's that's all about? I presume it's to remove foliage and residue from the track? Maybe that's the MOW equipment BL2 briefly mentioned.

He had a mix of coal cars I haven't seen before & having different colors used for the end car markings for the rotary couplers. These are the markings seen: CRIX, DEEN, DEEX, DETX, FURX, HEQX, NDYX, NEQX, NOYX, OFOX, & SPSX.
Wonder if it might be a mis-route? Last time this happened, it was BNSF who mistakenly handed off a DTE train which was supposed to go to Detroit as a Consumers Power train for West Olive. Consumers figured it out when it got to West Olive, so it was then run via Grand Rapids to Detroitland. IIRC it was the last loaded coal train through GR.
Today, Jan 29th, 2021 @ 12:09pm (verified via the CSX West Michigan scanner archives) what sounded like a conversation going on at Wells siding: "4th from the end" & the reply was "apparently it wasn't clean coal". I'm wondering if this was in reference to my post on January 3rd for N801-03 being seen with loaded coal cars having multiple company markings. Since then, I haven't seen those coal cars returning as empties, nor, heard of any coal cars moving on the Plymouth sub.

Could be for melting the snow & ice from the track switches - I've seen that done before. Maybe, the propane switch heaters failed or the propane tanks are empty.

"Controlled burn" - maybe to quell fears of the railgrinder?

The rest of them (the cars with the other company markings) must be somewhere there, too.
