Could be for melting the snow & ice from the track switches - I've seen that done before. Maybe, the propane switch heaters failed or the propane tanks are empty.
Received word from Plymouth that they are indeed melting the snow and ice in the switches.

Today, Jan 29th, 2021 @ 12:09pm (verified via the CSX West Michigan scanner archives) what sounded like a conversation going on at Wells siding: "4th from the end" & the reply was "apparently it wasn't clean coal". I'm wondering if this was in reference to my post on January 3rd for N801-03 being seen with loaded coal cars having multiple company markings. Since then, I haven't seen those coal cars returning as empties, nor, heard of any coal cars moving on the Plymouth sub.
There is still some OFOX Cars at J.H. Campbell
The rest of them (the cars with the other company markings) must be somewhere there, too.
I'm sure, Just not visible from all the normal vantage points

hi jon
702 wb by 112th ave 1217p 2 4 axles and 64 cars.
15 to 20 were gons with boulders for jon
They must have been short on time or had some other priority before the end of their shift, as they appear to have left this entire train in the controlled Holland siding between Lakewood and 112th, with an EOT still hung on the east end. Also, they skipped the pickup of the NOKL and ATW hoppers at Vanden Bosch, which are ready to go.

D70629 left Lansing this morning with 129 cars. After making their set off, and before making their pick up, they put the DPU back together with the leader. Crew outlawed at 04:15 at Silver Lake Road crossing west of South Lyon. Did not know it at the time, but when they went by the house here they broke a rail within 100 feet of me. Crew called to fix it. Train had more ash cars towards the rear, plus a bunch of GLC scrap tie loads, that should not have gone east unless they are going to Detroit just to turn them around and bring them back. Another grain empty coming sometime this morning, or whenever they get a crew for it at Plymouth but wont be going anywhere until a re-crew gets there for D706 which was not yet called at 04:00. This one going to Webberville, which tells me the empty that went west yesterday went to Grand Ledge if it didn't go all the way to GRP..

Don't know where 706 is, signals at Beck and Plymouth are red for EB, so maybe it already cleared. The WB grain train BL2 referred to is at Beck Rd., lights out. CSX 4558 + 3014 leading.

Something other than a GEVO? 4558 is a rebuild SD70MACe, is it in the lead position?
