****Southbound CN Intermodal Train by Linden at 11:58am with around 177 cars!!**** (Didn't get an exact car count). CN 5741 is the leader with another CN unit trailing. Even with the empty autoracks, that is a fair amount of tonnage for 2 locos, assuming the containers were loads. He was only moving at about 25 or 30mph.

This train has maybe 30 or so autoracks on the Head End, the rest intermodal. This was either a very late 116 or one of those new Intermodal trains that has been talked about (Southbound would be 146 - maybe?).

It will be interesting to see what continues to occur on the CN as far as new intermodal trains are concerned, which makes me continue to wonder what the new Amazon facility in Detroit will bring as well - if it will mean additional trains or just trucks to and from Chicago for example.

Was a late Q116

I was afraid of that LansingRailFan. I suspected it was indeed 116. Nice to see since he usually comes through in wee hours of the morning when I am sleeping.

Almost 180 cars was cool to see for sure!

Road freight working Pontiac Yard. Red white blue cowl unit trailing. 2251 leading. Looks like southbound and picking up string of empty center beams and tank cars.

Long southbound that appears to be Q116 (autoracks up front, intermodal back) went south through Linden at 1:09pm. CN 3890 (100 anniversary) and Progress Rail 7201 for power.

The Pontiac Yard job is switching the scrap yard on what’s left of the PO&N line. Unfortunately it’s very difficult to see inside the property. Normally I can see gondolas parked near the edge of the property but there's nothing there today.

It was an extra section of Q148 that originated in Ferndale (Detroit). The primary purpose was to get empty well cars to Brampton Intermodal Terminal (BIT) in Toronto - and beyond. Normal routing of Q148 is straight across South Bend and Flint subs to Port Huron and into Canada. Some changes in the works for CN intermodal in Michigan in the coming months...
