Watching ATCS Monitor, it looks like CN L502 is about to start switching Durand, possibly broke its train in between Vernon & Clara, also to add, a following Eastbound is lined up in between Potterville & Delta Siding.

Re: CN Updates September 2016
Around 11 am today two light CN locomotives went by my house at MP 22.3 on the Holly Sub. headed north to Pontiac. Thought it might be mid-day Train 425 without a train due to the holiday weekend but 451 later went by with a pretty long train at 1 pm. Both 950 and 515 were a bit late out of Pontiac this morning. I don't think either one has returned to Pontiac yet.

Train 950 just went by my house at MP 22.3. I think it had 6223 as power.

Re: CN Updates September 2016
Following up on the two light locomotives heading to Pontiac earlier today. Three light locomotives (not two) just went south by my house from Pontiac. 451 had three locomotives today so maybe these were from that train or one was from that train coupled to the other two from this morning? Anyway, I suspect an extra doublestack (119?) out of Moterm tonight powered by them will be heading west in a few hours. They usually run these when there are a ton of empty well cars to send back west. Will keep you posted.

Westbound extra doublestack train flying up the hill at speed at MP 22.3 on the Holly with those three locomotives reported earlier and a fairly long train. A Q119, I presume. Last half of the train all empty well cars.

A rolling meet in the backyard just now at MP 22.4. A late leaving Amtrak headed toward Detroit and Chicago (about an hour late leaving Pontiac) on Main 1 was passed by northbound 391 with two locomotives and a shorter train on Main 2. Busy evening on the Holly Sub.

385, CN 2890, is clear of Nolan.
Re: CN Updates September 2016
CN 2291 was Q119. Amtrak 355 was held in Ponitac until they cleared MAL Junction.
M391 - CN 2879 and 3083.
L502 - CN 2874 and 2950.

And, to finish off today, 502 just went south at MP 22.3 with a very short train.

CN 2298 is L533. They met the Rail Grinder near Oakland/Nevada on the Holly Subdivision at 1740.
Where will the "Grinder" be headed next? Is it already gone? I sure would like to "Catch" this "Grinding" away!!!! Did it travel the entire Mt. Clemens Sub.?

Re: CN Updates September 2016
Since the windows were open last night and they woke me up here is the late nite Holly Sub. report from last night. At 11:15 pm or so the first Amtrak (on the summer schedule) went by towards Pontiac. Then at 1:11 am the second Amtrak to Pontiac went flying by and it passed in a high speed meet what I presume was the earlier Amtrak deadheading back to is it Battle Creek? Sounded like it. Second rolling meet at MP 22.3 yesterday.
However, Amtrak seems to be on its regular schedule today as 353 just went by my house at MP 22.3 on its non-summer schedule and if that eastbound I heard last night was Amtrak then I don't know where this trainset came from. Never a dull moment on the railroad.
451 is just blowing its horn for Opdyke. It has CN 2811 and NS 9436 as power. Fourth NS unit by my house in the last week or so.

It's the "LORAM" grinder right? I saw it about a year ago on the Flint Sub spraying the tracks.detroitbench wrote:I only saw it working the North Yard and Holly this week. What a dirty ass job.Robertrains wrote:GTW6401 wrote: » Wed Aug 31, 2016 7:41 pm

Re: CN Updates September 2016
Train 950 just went by MP 22.3 on the way back to Pontiac with 6223 and a half dozen cars. It seems that 513 (or is it 515?) stopped working on weekends or they combined 950 and 513 on weekends this summer though today's train just had the typical 950 mix of tank and boxcars on it. Can you tell I am just having a lazy Labor Day weekend at home catching all the trains on the Holly Sub? We will see if Amtrak 350 goes by on its old schedule in the next half hour to an hour today.
