Unread post by JANGAJONGA »

B34 through Ann Arbor at 4:20. are there some slow orders around AA on the MICH line? i heard them say coming up to track speed and wondered if they were coming out of a slow order.

Janga, you should put the date in your thread title so there's less confusion about which day you're referring to. Thanks for the B34 headsup

Limits are 45 Freight (?) ands 50 Passenger although I have seen trains slow way down and of course Amtrak stops in there too.

By Miller westbound at 450am 3/28.

As info, here are the freight speeds between Townline and Baron:
50 mph all main tracks except for the following:

Wayne Jct 40
Huron River Bridge MP 31.7 35 (I was always told this was due to engine weight- it used to be "head end only", and it doesn't apply to passenger)
MP 37.3-37.9 30
MP 74.0-77.5 45
MP 94.5-96.2 40
MP 117.7-119.0 40
MP 119.0-Baron 25
Baron Interlocking 20

Passenger in Ann Arbor area is:
Ypsi to 32.5 55
32.5-34.5 60
34.5-34.7 55
34.7-36.9 60
36.9-37.3 55
37.3-37.9 40
37.9-38.6 50
38.6-43.3 65
... ad nauseam : )

And now for the 66th annual Roger Ross Trivia Question: How many times does the MCRR cross the Huron River in total?

So if it came west through Ann Arbor at 4:30AM when would you expect for it to come east?
