Amtrak's P32-8 (8-32BWH)

Unread post by signmasters »

It was a good day in Dowagiac today, I went down to get photos of B05 but pulling onto the controlled siding is Amtrak #511 leading and #505 (P32-8 (8-32BWH)) with about 30 rail transport cars 2 stone cars and some funny looking cars. I did get photos of NS B05, Amtrak 511 and 505 but not the funny looking car sorry.

Cool, steel cars running again :) . Would paper box cars be for the place in Mason? I don't think G-P west of Jackson gets rail service and cardboard plant in Battle Creek only gets slurry by rail, I think :?

I saw 511-505 go light eastbound through Porter, IN, late Tuesday afternoon. Wondered what that was.

Eastbound NS B34 through Ypsilanti at 5:08PM this afternoon with the following consist:

NS 8706 D8-40C
NS 8705 D8-40C (consecutive!!)
53 cars

The cars were as follows:
9 standard 50' boxcars (paper empties as Ian noted)
1 gondola
12 steel coils (NS and a couple Conrails)
16 covered hoppers
6 tankcars (ADM)
9 covered hoppers (B57 Battle Creek type cars? All BNSF and UP predecessors)

All arranged nicely one type after another type after another type :)

Here's the video link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiB4pYEXwu8
Sorry it's so grainy, the original is very clear, I guess Youtube just can't handle B34's awesomeness?! lol

Nice video JANGAJONGA. Thans for showing the whole train. One tiny suggestion, maybe step back a couple steps. No biggie, though, it was a very enjoyable video :)

Janga, nice video. Now, do yourself a favor and stay back from the tracks a little further; you are on rr property there and considering how many reports and incidents the rrs' have had in AA with idiots on/near the tracks, I wouldn't want you to get a visit from the police.

With an increase in train/trespasser incidents on the rise nation wide, don't be surprised if it becomes open season with train crews calling in everybody on the r-o-w. With a couple of pending litigation cases involving my co-workers with fatalities, you can bet we will be calling in to report trespassers.
