That's probably L302-02 with CSX engines #5334 + #769 & 71 cars if he's headed westward. L303 had arrived Ensel around 15:20 or so & I would imagine his work was completed & already(?) went east to Detroit.

U301-02 (former D900) @ 16:53 reported from Plaster Creek mp CGT 2.0 with CSX engines #3276 + #3157 & 91 cars. This crew was on duty at 16:00 and this is Q326's train being yarded.

326 ran out of time?

Yes, but he was already inside the Grand Rapids Terminal with less than 1 hour of on duty time left @ 15:45 & the U301 crew took over the train.

I see, I have questions just to understand this better. The crew that yarded 326, is this a crew that stays in the yard most of the time or were they a road crew? Are they given other yard assignments after completion of yarding the train? My point in asking is, it doesn't make sense to call a brand new crew just to yard the train.

I don't think they keep a crew hanging around waiting to see if they may be needed or not (SD80MAC would know more about this subject than I do). Q326 had arrived with 91 cars that had to be dealt with, plus it turned out its rear dpu the CSX #3157 has an issue that doesn't allow it to be a leading engine. U301 had spun the engines for the this morning's Q327 in addition, I would imagine, moving cars onto the different tracks inside Grand Rapids that may be going out on other trains (L301, Y121, Y106, etc & maybe some for L303). So basically, they didn't call in a new crew just to park Q326 onto some track & just leave it there as a whole train as it was when it had arrived to be dealt with by the morning crews.
