aaaaaand 350 by Opdyke in Bloomfield Hills at 2:21 in the snow, Charger #4613, metroliner cafe and 4 ventures, wave and a horn salute from today’s crew

Amtrak MOW train through Dexter at 11:05 or so WB. 519 leading 518, gondola 13354 and NS caboose 555513 (or maybe 555518, numbers are faded).

Amtrak 350 went past MP 22.5 very slowly (10 mph) at 2:30 pm today, maybe because of the new absolute signal at Opdyke Road being activated today per David's post on another tab. It had three new venture cars, a Metroliner-type snack/business car and a baggage car on the rear.

Amtrak 353 by Opdyke at 9:03, weird consist today, Charger #4617, Amfleet Cafe, two horizons, one Amfleet II and two ventures. Dashing through the white fluffy hell with a peace sign and horn salute from the engineer this morning

P.s.: Kinda messed up on the signal, I made a judgement call because they were all red when they first cutover M2’s new head, they’re still ABS.

Have any additional coaches been showing up over Thanksgiving?

Good question. I don't think so though a few more Venture coaches are spliced into another train this past week but not necessarily as additional ones. I will start counting today.

I don't think it was mentioned here, but the Pere Marquette is back to Superliners as of almost a week ago. 3 of them, the usual consist. More capacity with 3 Supers than the 2 Venture coaches + and Amfleet cafe/business car. In prior years sometimes a 4th Superliner would be added, but I would not expect that this year given how short of equipment the fleet is, especially Superliners.

In unrelated news, Phase II paint P42 #130 was in 2nd position on the Elkhart camera this morning on 49. Unless they do a power swap, it ought to be on 48 eastbound tonight.

Today's Train 350 had the usual five cars including some Ventures. No baggage car, though, so you can say one more car than usual, I guess.

Train 353 this morning had a Metroliner-type snack car, three new Ventures, another metroliner-type coach and then another Venture on the rear, so one extra car than usual.

355's consist yesterday was amfleet cafe/venture/venture/venture/amfleet II/horizon. Happy thanksgiving everyone!

Train 351 this morning had two Ventures cars on the rear, swelling the usual five-car train to six cars this morning for the Holiday Weekend traffic.

And Train 353 this morning is down to its usual five cars, no Ventures. So much for holiday overload.

350 with 4605 leader departed Royal Oak 14:00

I heard what sounded like Amtrak 354 passing my house headed toward Pontiac at 5:15 am, running about five hours late. And this morning's 351 hasn't departed Pontiac yet. So something seems to have delayed 354 and now 351 today.

8:10 update: Train 351 just went past MP 22.5 on CN's Holly Sub, an hour and a half late this morning. Four Ventures plus a snack car from the Metroliner design.

354 hit a trespasser last night between Jackson & Ann Arbor. They terminated it in Ann Arbor according the Amtrak twitter.

Amtrak Alerts can't seem to make up their mind about what happened. Buster Manning, can you clarify this one for us?

Amtrak 350 just passed MP 22.5 at 2:04 pm, pretty much on time today. It had two Chargers back to back on the headend, some venture cars, a non-Venture snack car and a baggage car on the rear end. Good and interesting looking train. I presume it is dropping off the lead Charger as a replacement backup for Pontiac.

Amtrak 350 had two Challengers as power today, both on the headend running elephant style. Only one Venture coach today and a baggage car on the rear end. It passed MP 22.5 on the Holly Subdivision at 2:26 pm.

Never heard 350 pass by MP 22.5 this morning so it mustn't have left Pontiac yet.

Update: Just passed my house at 6:57 am, running an hour late out of Pontiac.

Amtrak 351 left Pontiac on time this morning. Not sure what is running and what isn't today with the Wolverines. Hardly any snow here in Pontiac so far, just a lot of wind. They went from predicting a foot of snow here a few days ago to maybe 3 inches now. Cold though, it was 12 degrees here when I woke up, it is 10 degrees now at 7 am.
