EB X31651 w CN 3016 leading departed Joliet Yard, Joliet, Illinois at 15:42. Normally an Edmonton, AB to Winnipeg, MB manifest, it can continue on to Toronto, ON as needed. It usually runs “up and over” thru Canada instead of down the WC thru Chicago.

This is similar to how we started getting those X302s occasionally. Unknown if this will eventually continue.

EB X31651 w CN 3016 up front and mid-DPU. n ###4 consists of a block of mixed freight cars up front and then autoracks after the DPU. Should be out of BC between 23:00-00:00.

EB Z148 is running a few hours late and is actually trailing Q122 slightly out of Markham. Note that CN had swapped 148 and 122s start times with 122 taking the later slot. 122 and then 148 should follow X31651 out of BC with L500 following them.

Amtrak 364 through Lansing at 22:40

A short freight with one or two units up front and one in the middle just past MP 22.5 on the Holly following Amtrak 351 down the HIll. Odd there is a DPU with such a short train. Too dark out to see it. The wind is howling here in SE Michigan but very little snow so far.

Cn 2343 eb by 205 with racks. Cn 2828 as mid train power. 0825 There was one with 2 cn ahead of him. Stacks and racks. Busy morning...

X316 to Flat Rock

Eb manifest by 205 at 0949. Cn 3864 pulling and 2894 in the middle. That's like the 3rd or 4th dpu I've seen this morning. Cn must have decided that's more cost effective than air cars in the cold since they have to run the engines anyway?

L572 this morning on the Dearborn sub had BCOL 4653 leading CN 5620 NB. CN 5620 led SB on their return.

This pair came into Flat Rock on an M385.

OK LansingRailFan, since BCOL 4653 does not have P.T.C. equipment, it cannot lead on PTC lines! Is this "Hoop Track" which runs through Allen Park? That would have been cool to see! Is this engine going to be staying between Flat Rock and Dearborn for a while? Or is it already gone?

CN 2343 and mid DPU CN 2828 was EB M35641 to Flat Rock

After this train was WB Q12311, our first Q123 in almost two weeks. CN 8868/IC 2716

EB X39491 w CN 3864 and mid DPU CN 2894. Definitely w the cold temps CN is switching to a lot of mid-DPUs
